Could make all that too if you had the tools and tenacity rather than buy.

This from the man who made the drawer system for his Disco, that if made into a book would rival the epic War and Peace.

EXACTLY......
after spending 30,000 hours and multliple injurys and the headaches involved.... i thought.... $2k would have been worth it...

Seriously... somethings i'll make....

Defenders Storage will be home made as i've sussed it out...
Rock sliders will be home made.
Rear wheel carrier.... its complicated with swing angles and stuff... I thought about a lock type one, but i just got one from the UK CHEAP.
Diff guards. Cheap again.
Snorkle. Safari as i got a great price.
Bull Bar $100 2nd hand and perfect nic...

Its a cost issue. i could make all of those things, but if it falls in my lap cheap or quick to make, i'll do it.

External Jerry holders will be an interesting project.
I'm avoiding the roof rack options as the Defender already is a Wind break, rack cannot improve it...

So yes Tyrepower.... if its cheap buy it, if its easy to build and $$ expensive then build it.

At $700 odd for a Swing away in Aust... why would you buy one... unless it was a Kaymar with bar and other crap..

Id be interested in seeing others ideas

Ohh.... might have an engineer mate who can build us stuff...

Me, I just buy the item.......tell SWMBO......... assume the position (foetal) protecting all vital organs, engage spousal deafness mode on the hearing aid and prepare for the sermon on being a selfish mongrel.

Hmm, these ones would disallow the use of JATE rings (though there are other solutions)

While I can't quite see where/how these bolt up. Anyone happen to have a pic of these fitted ? Do they efficiently collect and retain dirt?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
