Thread: Rear wheel carrier.

Hmmmm....rear doors (my pet subject at the moment). In a recent possessed rage, mr rear door almost took my elbow off.

I have been doing the very same research of late, eventhough the 2002 door is meant to be stronger, mine still gets the wriggles.

The best price I have found to date is for the Bearmach Swing away from Karcraft at Silverdale in Sydney (~$490, including GST). Bloody good price. The Bearmach also appears to be well made. I think a couple of others have the Bearmach and are happy campers. Do a search for wheel carriers and see what comes up.

Sorry -- forgot to mention that you will need to make up a H-mounting bracket to go on the back of the door, as the 2002 door needs additional re-enforcing :?

I forgot to say in my original post that Rovacraft are generally one of the better priced suppliers of parts and accessories in Perth and I've purchased plenty of stuff there before and no doubt will in the future.
Maybe the carrier they sell is an exceptionally well made and gold plated item into the bargain, but I wasn't impressed with the price.
Thanks for your thoughts on the Bearmach Noddy, do you have know if there's a pic of it on a website somewhere.
Does the bottom end fit to the chassis and the "H" bracket at the top?

Alan, try ringing 9274 8511. This bloke lives in West Swan and makes up a copy of the Scorpion carrier. He has a heavy accent and is a little difficult to understand. He supplies to a leading 4x4 shop, so what you pay $900 for he sells direct at $450.
He also drives a Defender so knows what he's doing.

The greame cooper one is very good, holds door open by locking into pin.

Also opens with door so you can get out from inside.

From what I saw it will hold the door open. If you had a look at the one at Rovertech, I think that's the company he manufacturs for.
