    Disco Instrument Cluster into Defender

In a UK magazine there was some Dutch bloke who had fitted the instrument cluster from a Disco into his Defender.

Given the woeful instrumentation of the Defenders, I am assuming the Disco ones are much better.

Correct me if I'm wrong but surely an instrument panel from a 200 Tdi Disco would be an easy swao into a 200Tdi Fender (obviously I'd need to fabricate the actual mounting solution). The appropriate senders etc would all be in place, and it would pretty much be a simple unplug / plug in job, wouldn't it :?:

(No doubt it wouldn't but I need to know why, and more importantly how I might go about doing it!)

    Thanks.

(I think I might have asked this somewhere before but if so I can't find it.)
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

If that's the case then VDO stuff sucks, coz my gauges are rubbish.

    Badly illuminated
    Trip meter broken
Battery charge thingy is full of condensation...

That is now your water level gauge.
