Yeah mate, they do a metric series as well. You can even put in the notes when you order it, the range you want eg 0-140kph or 0-200kph.

Here is the guage I'm talking about Speedometers Gauge, Revolution Metric Gauge Series by SpeedHut

130 is 9 khp low @ 100kph on the guage.
90 speedo is spot on.
Both Defers have disco rims and 235/85's

i run 7.50x16 tyres and somtimes 33" tyres and it realy makes bugger all diffrance to the speed on the clock how ever the odo is spot on

As others have pointed out, there are two issues to consider: the speedometer and the odometer.

Even though there is obviously a relationship between the two as they are both driven by the same cable, there can be significant differences between the error in one and the error in the other.

For example, my Defender speedometer reads 10% over my actual speed at all speeds between about 50km/h and about 110 km/h. My odometer however indicates just 3.5% more than the distance I have actually covered.

Those figures are with standard 235/85x16 tyres. I have done the comparison using the GPS and also using marker signs on the highway and a stopwatch and I have always got the same figures with both methods, with just a tiny variation as the tread wears, so I am confident that the figures are correct.

So I have a 10% error in the speedo, which I don't find a problem at all and I see no reason to bother with any sort of modification and I have a 3.5% error in the odometer which means that the error in the fuel consumption figure that I like to boast about is less than the variation resulting from a slight headwind, a slight increase in the proportion of town vs rural trips and the errors caused by not squeezing that last litre of fuel into the tank when refilling.

It might just the speedo that's inaccurate. Have you checked the distance recorded by the odometer vs that recorded by a GPS?

My County reads 5km/h high at 100km/h. I haven't checked the odometer.

When running 7.50R16'2 My speedo runs at 115kmh when doing 100 ish according to phone gps, and at the same time checking those 5km roadside signs my odometer is reading about 5% over= 5.25km.
Running 31 x 10.5R15's the speedo reads 120kmh when actually doing 100kmh. Good reason to run 33" tyres eh?
When I think I'm speeding, everyone else thinks I'm just cruising - good for the Defender image I guess
