If its a Eurovox, you can get the keys from Eurovox in Melbourne..
You can try just using two little screwdrivers, but the keys have little hooks on the end to pull the unit out, like crochet needles.

Does anyone know how to remove the factory stereo from a Defender? (Finally got sick of it and bought a CD/MP3 player 8) ).
I assume you poke something in the twolittle holes in the front? 8O

A length of wire will release the frame locks and with a bit of a wiggle you can just pull it out
There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours
Thanks Guys,
yup, it's a Eurovox pile of cr@p. It has already been replaced once under warranty and is playing up again.
I'm thinking of replacing mine as well so I'll remember these tips. Although a parts man at the stealers reckoned they were getting a little key for it .............. I wonder how much of a rip off that would be?
Had a fiddle, can't get it out, I think I will break something if I keep trying.
Rang the dealer, they said yeah just drop around and we'll pull it out for you (without charge).
I just got an iPod car jack for my Defender. A bizarre robotic like instrument that sticks out of the lighter socket and narrowcasts to the FM radio. The Defender looks very modern and chic with it there - colour matches the white duco too and contrasts nicely with the dusty black dash.
Has an upgraded sound system and speakers mounted in the rear corner. Still a crap place to listen to music though with all the noises.
Still they say that a Defender on the open road sounds better than any philharmonic orchestra, don't they.
Don't they?
It has a very strong percussion section.Originally posted by JamesH
