Very nice conversion mate, and I bet it was at a fraction of the cost of an aftermarket one.

Indeed it was Cols. All up I reckon well under $400. The most expensive bits being the flash hold down rails ($100 with 6 removable rings), and the rubber matting at about $50 odd per metre. The genuine Black Widow or Outback roller drawer systems don't come with any hold down points standard anyway, so you'd still be up for the cost of that, on top of the $1000+ for the drawer! The big 3/16 pop rivets were also a bit expensive since they only came in bags of 150, but I guess I'll use them somewhere else some day.

another idea when travelling alone.....
i have some flat boards across my wheel arches from one side to the other. on the drivers side i fold down the backrest of the back seat and fit a full length single matress on top.
fridge on the left hand side and food etc. (in tubs) on the left hand seats.
you also have the floor in front of the back seat empty for storage.
perfect for overnighters and aces bbqs.

Paul,
Looks good.
Question: How does the side boards (on the seat boxes) and the drawer section bolt down to the floor of the Landy?

Rob
The board is screwed to the seat box in a couple of places with self drilling metal thread screws, countersunk a bit to be flush with the surface of the ply. The main thing holding it all down though, is the row of 3/16 x 1/2" pop rivets that hold the tie down rail in place on each side. These rivets are long enough to go through the rail, ply and aluminium of the seat box.
The vertical part of the forward hatch (what the lid hinges on) is attached with a couple of large galv. angle brackts, once again pop riveted through the side of the seatbox.
The drawer frame is screwed to the floor with self drilling metal threads, and the ply top is screwed to the frame in the same way.
