Body lift - metal or plastic blocks

Okay whats your thoughts. Has anyone here done a body lift. My first leaning is towards polyurethane but someone suggested that flexibility can lead to cracking the floor in alloy vehicles. Im either going to be slotting new spings under her or a body lift depending on what prices i can find. Either way its going to be a two inch spring lift plus possibly the body blocks.
    cheers

    Gday Mick,

I used aluminium, rigid and light (not that my rangie is on a diet) I have 50mm spring lift and 30mm body. I did the body due to my motor conversion. Most I guess do a body lift to get bigger rubber under the truck.

With polyurethane, there are various hardnesses around ranging from Shore A20 which is very soft to A90 hard, if you do go that route I would be looking at the harder end of the scale.

I'm curious , why would you choose polyurethane against steel in the first place?

being in QLD mick QLD transport will only allow steel blocks.
also, you cant lift any higher that 2'', BUT any lift HAS to be
engineered and certified by them. they want a report of what the
lift will be affected, brake lines, steering links ect ect and how to
over come them, extended brake lines and things like that.

i was looking into it before i left QLD 5mths ago, here in NSW
its not much better, maybe a little less paperwork. :?

The Graham Coopers ones are only body mount blocks - you have to make everything else up yourself.

Ahhhh the plot thickens. I knew it had to be engineered that shouldnt be too much drama but complications of brake lines extensions and radiator movement i adnt thought of. I knew i would have to relocate the rear bumper and i was just going to make a trim strip for the front but looks like more research is needed.
