    RR centre diff lock

Hi, im about to buy a '89 RR Vogue- 3.5.
Does this have a centre diff lock like series 1 disco or is it open, or some other set up?
Also do they have open front and rear diffs?

    Yes.

mmm really it goes that the Disco Seris 1 is like the Range Rover as it is a range rover with a differant body on it, and the range rover was first.

Yes, but we haven't addressed the centre diff lock. I'm not sure from which model the Rangie had the centre diff lock replaced by the viscous coupling. It may not have been until the Nineties so the '89 may have the centre diff lock - the same as the Disco I

I knew it was there when the 3.9 was introduced (I had one on my '90 RaRo) but I wasn't sure initially if it was introduced to the 3.5.

thanks but what is a viscous center diff. How does it work and how does it differ from a diff lock. Is it better or not?
