aftermarket air con unit is fitted (w/ pics)

The Air Con is fitted, and let me say, it is almost too good. It hasn't been to hot since I have had it only around 28 with low humidity but I get cold driving around with it on the lowest fan setting. The unit is a "formula" brand and model number is "EV2223", it is listed as a mini bus air con unit and has a 22 223 btu rating and blows 390cubic feet per hour. It is a very proffesional unit and when enclosed will look very nice.

As the photo’s show it is mounted overhead behind the passenger seat, the vents flush with the end of the middle section of headliner. The controls have been remote mounted on the dash. It is mounted on rhs square tubing resting on the inner roof rails. The hoses run up through the rear of the passenger side and up the rear window pillar- all lines, evaporator overflow and electricals run down the same route. They fabbed up a cover that I have to upholster for the pipes up the window pillar. As stated in previous posts the install uses the existing compressor, gas etc. The air con lines run along the side of the chassis to the engine bay.

As requested they have left the unit bare as I want to build the facia for front and rear as I plan on putting my rear speakers in either side of the air con unit. They supplied a vent to place over the rear of the enclosure so it can get plenty of air in to turn into nice cold air.

Although the air out of the unit does not blow directly on the occupants it is really cold and cools the whole vehicle down within a minute of the vehicle being started. All up for installation and unit was $1150 but they told me that it should have cost about $1500. They did me a good deal as I told them I had put up posts on a couple of web sites and they had already got another call by someone after the same thing after seeing the posts.

FNQ Auto Air did a top quality job building a mounting system, plumbing and wiring. I cannot rave enough about the service they gave- they called me in during the install to check that what they were doing was what I wanted and everything was to my liking. I totally recommend Dennis and the team at FNQ Auto Air Townsville (07)4771 2555 if anyone around here needs any thing at all air con wise. bigger pics can be seen in members galleries page 6 under PUllsy's COunty. Cheers,
    Pullsy

Pullsy hasn't been here for nearly 2 years. I may have downloaded the pics onto my laptop when I had the County.

I'll drag the laptop out later and check.

Simon, is that the stuff Disco Steve has for you?
