I went to Instant Windscreens at Wooollloooongabbba (I know how to spell it, I just don't know when to stop)
They used a metallic tint called "Matrix", I'm not sure if its 3M, but they did a good job and I have not suffered any interference or degredation in my radio reception. If it blisters during its lifetime, they will replace it.

it should come off the same way early type rego stickers used to be removed. (the wet and stick type)
take care when having tint fitted....some clowns out there cut the film to size on the inside of the glass and actually cut through the demister elements.
the cure is pretty much a new glass at their expense, and a headache at yours.
sure they know their job, but ive seen it happen a few times...

Limitations on tinting windows exist for the windscreen (a no-no) and the two front side windows as you're required a certain amount of vision to see your side mirrors. The rest can be as dark as you want basically. Most tint places will charge about $60-$80 to remove the old tint from a vehicle the size of a 4wd and if anything goes wrong it's on thier head.
The big advantage with metallic based tint is that it doesn't get that horrible faded look to it and maintains is clarity as it gets old.
