I can tell you that RAEME would have cleaned them up and used them, for years to come. But would YOU trust the Army? In this case, I would. I don't know of any body that knows LR's more than the Armed Forces that used them, and the ARA had unlimited spare parts when they were using IIA's, so could have changed them to create work. .
That said, RAEME mechs weren't always the best.., but were pretty good under pressure.
