RR body lift

Can anyone tell me what involved with a 1 or 2 inch body lift on an 84 rangie.

Will I have to lengthen brake hoses?

Will I have to move the radiator/hoses?

Any wiring etc need adjusting?

Or is it just a simple jacking up of the body and replacing mounts a corner at a time?

Cheers

Excellent question Mick! I was going to ask the same thing. I have done plenty of spring lifts but never a body lift.

Does the transfer case shifter have to be bent or lengthened?

Does anything change if it is an earlier model ie '77 model?

Any tips for doing it? ie any order it should be done in etc.

this would make a great tech write-up.

Almost forgot. Does anyone have any recomendations for body lift kits?

I was going to buy Rangie Spares kit only because I know they have one & I have bought stuff from them before. I know you can make your own but I am not that confident yet a kit will be fine.

call sum metal fabrication mobs get them to make you up sum 60mm diameter tube docked to the bodylift height you want.

than number each bolt and when you take it out go to a bolt mob and say give me these (plus the amount of the bpdy lift height you want).

I am doin a 1" body lift, I know with the rangie apparently the seat bealt mount under the body need legthening

2" body lifts the brake lines should be ok. Any hiegher and your all askin for trouble

I thought that Les Richmond Automotive had a kit:

www.lrautomotive.com.au

Also Graeme Cooper:

www.lrexpert.com.au

Both are worth talking to.

Thanks,
Les Richmond is the same place as Rangie Spares.

So do you have to modify gear/transfer levers with a 2" lift?

I did know about the seatbelts (in the rear I think) but is there anything else?

Required:
10 spacers 50-60mm bar stock cut to lth.
Drill 11mm hole through center.
For 50mm lift 10 bolts 8.8 M10x130 with nylocs.

rear Behind rear wheels 2 bolt on supports for body, remove and add to top same amout as lift. refiit to chassy.

Under front seats is a spacer that requires extending.

Rad on 84 I think is mounted to front panel so should lift up with body this you should try and lower relocate mounts on front panel if possible. other wise shroud must be modded.

seat belt mounts need extending: 25mmx3mm flat with 10mm holes at same centres as lift. extra bolt needed.

rear break hose rotate Tee 90 degrees BLEED brakes after.

Front brake lines can be extended IE: pulled through another 50mm carefully,. relocate mount on inner guard.

if manual clutch line need to be replaced with longer.
