Due to a very painful (and new) rare type of arthritis in my both wrist it is very painful for me to steer my RRC
This is the last straw. crook neck and now hands!
I increased the pressure in the front tyres and the thread pattern on them it is smooth.
Now I just wonder if I can fit a new kind of pump or if there are of the shelf parts to increase the flow and pressure on the pump.
If not, I am thinking in getting an old pump and experimenting in modifying it to see if I can get a lighter steering.

Some LR PAS systems have a lighter feel than others - even on what should be identical vehicles. I have always put it down to minor differences in the valving.
I would think any adjustments would need to be made in the box rather than the pump (presuming your pump is in good condition). The pump would need surplus capacity.
Bush65 is probably the best person to talk to on this - he doesn't seem to post here anymore, but still posts on 4BTswaps and pirate4x4
What about one of those knobs that attach to the wheel - would that help?
Ok, I just found on the Repair Operation manual page 248 the instruction for repair the pump.

Thanks Ben, I was thinking on the nob but when I am bad I have to change the way that I handle a fork or the spoon
On the top of that to fit a nob ( in this Nanny country) I need a Dr certificate, do a test to show that I am capable to drive with a nob and also change my DL

I just wonder if the tension on the spring on the flow control valve is 3,6 to 4,8 kg (8 to 9 ft) at 21mm as per specs?
I managed to get more info
With the engine running @ 1000 rpm and holding the steering wheel on full lock
the pressure should be 60 to 67 kg (850 to 950 lbf/inch)
With the engine idling and the wheel on full lock it should be 28 kgf (400 lbf)
With the engine idling and the wheel released it should be 7 kgf ( 100 lbf/inch)
I have to chase or make an adapter to fit a gauge
Have you checked the unis in the steering column? When they fail it usually gives hard/easy but can stiffen the lot up.
