Turner's said there must be something wrong with my setup or timing, and that I had adjusted the lash too big - (I have been adjusting valves and tappets for 30 years so have some experience). I even checked it all including timing, was AOK. I then bought a new set of rockers and new aftermarket caps here in Melbourne, about 50K km ago, and with the same set up are all good and have required minimal adjustment since. I really like the Turner's head, but these caps that they have sourced and claimed are nice and hard, are just way too rough in my opinion. They have very square shoulders too - edges - the aftermarket ones I am running now were very curved and much rounder. Maybe others have had better luck, but never again for me. It was an expensive lesson for me. I have attached a photo of the rockers that were paired with the caps.
