    TURNERS Lashcaps

    hi all

In the process of a full rebuild of the old girls 300tdi...

I decided to go with the lashcaps from Turners Engineering, as they give them a good spruke...and make them sound pretty good.

Upon inspection...the quality dosnt seem to be there at all...check the pic out...

My personal experience, is that Turner's lashcaps literally ate into brand new rockers like they were mini routers - the rough pattern you can see on the caps was mirrored in the impression in the rocker. They sent me a new set of both, happenened again. Turner's said there must be something wrong with my setup or timing, and that I had adjusted the lash too big - (I have been adjusting valves and tappets for 30 years so have some experience). I even checked it all including timing, was AOK. I then bought a new set of rockers and new aftermarket caps here in Melbourne, about 50K km ago, and with the same set up are all good and have required minimal adjustment since. I really like the Turner's head, but these caps that they have sourced and claimed are nice and hard, are just way too rough in my opinion. They have very square shoulders too - edges - the aftermarket ones I am running now were very curved and much rounder. Maybe others have had better luck, but never again for me. It was an expensive lesson for me. I have attached a photo of the rockers that were paired with the caps.
