I reckon it might have something to do with your remapped ECU. Mine did the same until I had them re-tune it.

When you say smoke, how much (are we talking clouds) and what colour (hopefully it is black)?

Have you noticed any loss in power at all?

IIRC, all of that is controlled via the ECU unlike the 200 & 300TDi where you can adjust it all in the pump.

Hiline -- who did the remapping of your ECU? I would be getting them to have a look at it.

If you are not getting anywhere, give Bruce Davis a ring ('Davis Performance Landys' in Annangrove, Sydney) and see what he recommends.

I have heard of a number of remapped TD5s blowing smoke. I think Henry may have had a similar problem recently with his, might be worth dropping him a PM

    Regards

Just had a Bruce Davis remapped ECU fitted to my TD% and it does blow a bit more smoke. I think they just do anyway. Still the power is there. Incidentally what does grey or white smoke mean as opposed to block smoke?

    Cheers

What I've heard is white is cold chamber temp.. like when you try starting any diesel in <10ºC without glowing it, not hot enough to make the diesel burn fast enough.

grey smoke had to do with late injector timing or poor fuel.

black is unburnt fuel at optimum chamber heat.
