    As I mentioned earlier in this post, I was investigating an aftermarket wheel from Isotta for my Defender. Well, here it is:







    The wheel is 350mm diameter, IMO just about a perfect compromise between maximising elbow room, and not obscuring the gauges. To my taste it looks pretty good, and it feels excellent to use.

    Price? $100 for the boss kit and $149 in my case for the plain type wheel, but up to $500 or more if you want something a bit more spectacular.

    If correctly installed with the correct boss kit, Isotta wheels carry full ADR approval, provided your Defender was built before '98. If it was built '98 or later, then no aftermarket wheel is legal, apparently.

    ive got a momo boss on mine part number 2115115608


    but i think they only go by the last 4 digits.

    momo themselves werent sure if it would fit...i went there to try it then bought it.

    WTF ?

    Don't you just love arbitary nonsense like that ?

    I like kaistuff's solution, then you can get the reach of the wheel exactly where you want it, not where the manufacturer thinks is best.

    Lets see, I've got a bright red 12" Momo on the old race car in the container.....who needs to look at gauges... :wink:

    aahhh....yes.....the turbo thing.

    know all about it....i keep getting that from the handbrake.

    "what are you trying to do....run up his @rse?"

    whilst going up a hill in fifth and catching up to a semi really quickly.....just before the overtaking lane starts...

    you lift off for a second to avoid hitting the semi and the overtaking lane starts and you are back to third while the semi takes off and everyone else is driving straight past you.....



    till the downhill.....

    Sounds like you need to upgrade brands...maybe to a "performance" steering wheel if you only pass semis when they are handicapped. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

    aaah, 'Zook, this is where one needs to learn to left foot brake, while keeping the other foot buried in the right pedal. Keeps the hair dryer spooled up nicely, then one releaes the retardation pedal and..... 8O

    Of course, it doesn't lead to a long and healthy life for discs or pads...

    Of course, one can just drive the Landy as Solihull intended, and get a WRX for the highway blitzing.

    Too yuppyfied the rexes these days and most have one....

    but an R33 skyline would be what he needs to stand out and haul down the highway. :wink:
