I think rubber products are not simply glued, they are also pressed under very high pressure.
What vehicle you talking about as some mounts are not that expensive?
I have a pair of transmission mounts that are in good nick but have started to de-laminate.
They are the usual rubber block sandwiched between a pair of metal plates.
On one side of both, about 20% of the rubber block footprint has detached from the backing plate.
It seems a waste to replace them.
Any ideas on what to use to re-glue them?
At the end of the day they are manufactured using adhesives & not Divine Providence so a repair should be feasible.
3M's RT3500B looks the goods but is not available in Oz.

I think you'll find they've been vulcanised together.

Just imagine if the flexy part of mounts was made from sikaflex....... they'd last forever and there would be no separation. Oil and atmospheric ozone wouldn't be issues either.

Try sikaflex 11FC, the polyurethane based one. Ive used that for engine mounts before.
Thank you gentlemen! I'd forgotten vulcanizing. I now remember those little patches I used to clamp on an inner tube and set on fire to repair a puncture.
Renault Dauphine transmission.
Expensive especially when I have to pay for airfreight from Eu as well.
BM, the local nuts & bolts shop suggested that stuff as well. It's worth a go as the mounts are accessible in situ if they fail.
