Carby RR questions
I took the "Green Machine" (77 RR) out for it's first run last Monday over Elis Track. It went well but had troubles both at idle and starting when on a hill.
I will pull apart the carby the next chance I get and give it a check & clean but was wondering if this is normal on the carby RR or not. It is not the standard twin Stomburgs but has a single twin throte carby from a P76 I think.
It runs fine up & down hills but just won't idle. I could smell petrol fumes (again this might be normal) so my guess is it's flooding.
Any suggestions?

Sounds more like the Ford carb on the V8. Lot of people put them on V8's came from the Capri (don't know if you have them over there). Had one on the 100 hybrid i had. Like Holy's They don't work on angles and hills.
The problem you might have is the same as i had. They have twin thottle and the first one gets stuck so does not work too well. So most of the time you are running on the second one and will not run at iddle too well
Also not the best for the V8 want to put the orignal back on and it will work better
