    Thanks fellas for your tips,
I believe my problem is in a wheel sensor thats why the ABSwon't initiate.I'll do a check with a multimeter see how I go.

As far as Vlads problem goes I think the low brake fluid is a possibility, because mine does the same and i have checked the fluid. Its down(needs new pads) the sensor in the fluid reservoir is being uncovered or sloshing about.
The sensor in the reservoir in my pajero used to do it all the time, till I discovered it was stuck.
MR sounds like a good place to go.

On the subject of ECU's. I have a RAVE manual but where would I find a resource that tells me the LR parts numbers for various parts.

I want to know if the ABS unit out of a 1993 Rangie (part number NTC8474) is the same as the one that would be required for my vehicle.

The magic machine (diagnostic one) says there is an ABS ECU fault and while that might not be responsible for causing te faults above, it could be (or develop into) something else. I've located via EBAY a reasonably priced ABS ECU as specified above (the bloke is local and willing to refund if it doesn;t work) - but obviously no use to me if the part number is wrong.

    Cheers

    Vlad

I can check my electronic parts catalogue tonight.

Please PM the VIN number that I can plug into it for an exact answer.

The electronic parts catalogue (EPC) is pretty much the same (if not exactly the same) as that used at dealerships. Its available on CD, but only works on Windows 98. I don't think they are stocked in the emporium; I found mine on ebay of course

    Cheers
    Dave

Yeah I got it off someone who's not on the site and only because he included some other files I was chasing as well. He no longer has a LR either...

Otherwise I'd have bought it from you - really I would.
