4ZF HP22 300 Tdi valve block continues
As I posted in another thread, I pulled my valve block to fix a few issues. I replaced the damper clutch C springs which were broken.
It worked fine, and shifts beautifully, with one major exception; The downshift to 1st at 40 in 3rd or D is still there.
Anyone familiar with the 300 Tdi variant know if orifice C in this pic is dome up or dome down? Mine was dome down but every diagram I've seen has been up. Can they flip in service? I can't see how.

Next step I guess is to find another valve block to troubleshoot. Other possibility is the governor. Wish I'd checked it when the gearbox was out. The fact that it doesnt downshift in 2 indicates it's in the block.
