    Rebuild or replace?

Good afternoon everyone. The battery light won't go out in my 3.5 D1. Upon checking voltage, there is a noticeable drop after starting (11.8 stopped, and 10.2 at idle). The question is, do I tank it off and take it somewhere to be rebuilt? Or say stuff it and buy a new one. If that's the case, does anyone know if another will cross? (Ford, Holden, etc). Or if there are any good less expensive auto electric joints in or around Melbourne?

Many thanks in advance as always....

Not sure what you want to rebuild / replace.

Classic alternator brush worn out symptoms. $10 for my POS to get the brushes replaced by an auto elec. Some sort of Bosch alt.

If it can't be rebuilt/reco'd, try Karcraft in Silverwater Sydney, always reasonably priced usually next day delivery, Regards Frank.
