    Auto transmission oil

    Hello
    Does a full sintetic auto transmition oil for disco3, will be fine for disco2 trans. Or even disco1 ?

    You should use genuine ZF Lifeguard 6, for 6 speed AT in Disco 3

    Lifeguard6 is not suitable , Dexron III is what you need for D1/D2 ZF auto.

    If you want a full synthetic oil suitable for 4HP22E then Castrol Transmax Z is approved by ZF. I have used it for many years and have had no problems.
    If you google ZF approved oils they have pages on their website that detail the brands and models of approved ATF.
