Rangie classic electric seats
Can anyone clarify if there were 94 soft dash rangies in australia with an electric seat memory capability .
My 94 has elect seats but the switch for drivers side has been custom made as the original must have failed .
Im chasing a replacement switch setup but have noticed two types . With and without memory .
Dont know what mine originally was .
The passenger side one definitely has no memory position selector .
Thanks to all .

The original switches, - mounted as an afterthought on the seat squab - fail often. Oddly enough, the SAME Bosch brand switch is used in some Mercs, but mounted on the door card...where it has an easier life I'd imagine.
My '95 model, built July 94 has (2) memory for the driver-side only. These also moves both door mirrors to whatever has been preset to match the seat position/occupant.
Weakest link is the battery in the control box, which by now is past its' 'Use -By' date. Most have leaked, or are thinking about it. This can take some of the PCB tracks with it, resulting in limited or no functions. The ECU box is mounted underneath the driver's seat. - attached to the base. Yes, you take the seat out of the car to access it. Good news is...perfect chance to clean up/inspect/lubricate the mechanism, and find all those lost items...
And replace the battery. Available on evilbay, vaguely recall replacing it with a Ni-mh of slightly greater capacity. It physically fitted anyway. Original battery was working...but very furry and some tracks were looking a bit 'off-colour'......

Yep 94 soft-dash had memory on the driver's seat with 2 programmable positions, also controlling the mirrors. A nice feature.
