    Tdi camshaft

    I have a dead tdi that i'm stripping for parts and now down to pulling the cam out, i have removed the lifters but cant see what else is holding the cam in.

    Have you removed the 8 cam slides and rollers as well as the pushrods (lifters)
    Once all the items that touch cam lobes are removed it should then just be a matter of removing cam retaining plate and slide her out

    Yeah it was the cam retaining plate hidden behind the timing cover.
