What size are the wheels on your D4?
Depending on year and engine they could be 18, 19 or 20 and there is a big variation in what is available based on that.

Need to know what AT tyres are available for the D4.

A tyre manufacturer's web-site will show whether a particular tyre is HT, AT or MT. Most will have AT in their name, eg Pirelli Scorpion ATR, Yokohama AT/S or simply AT.

From what I've seen many don't say they're AT...I run the 19s at the moment - the ATR's. Considering crosscontacts because of their performance in the wet (ATR's aren't great in the wet).
I didn't ask the question clear enough. Sorry I'd like more detail on the construction of an AT vs an MT vs a light truck etc....
LT or passenger refers to the carcase construction whereas HT, AT and MT is tread pattern. No LT tyres exist in 19" in a size to fit Discos, although some passenger construction tyres are slightly heavier duty than others. Some have an extra load (XL) rating (usually load index 112 in 255/55R19) but that's for load carrying, not sidewall and tread area ruggedness normally associated with LT construction tyres.
I tried Pirelli ATRs but didn't like the aquaplaning in heavy downpours. I have recently acquired a set of Hankook RF10 AT which have a fairly open tread pattern but I wonder if their sidewalls are too exposed to survive rocks. Goodyear Duratrac is available in 255/55R19 which have a more open tread again but still a passenger rated carcase in this size.

I had thought that the AT, MT etc was more than just tread and that the principles of the tyre construction changed based on this identifier. So thanks for clearing this up - I now know it's just the tread pattern.
I'm really only taking the D4 on outback stone roads for a few weeks a year so am contemplating going with a tyre that is better in the wet than the current ATR's. The Conti4x4 will be better in the wet but the sidewall, as you've said about the Hancook, might be a little soft and prone to punctures.
I'm a little concerned by the way the Hankook sidewalls bulge. However as they had only done 500 km before being removed to wear-out my 17" Contis, they haven't had the chance to adjust their shape the way the Contis did after a few thousand kms so might improve. At least some people have had a good run from them.

Graeme, do you know if AT tyres have more layers than HT? Will AT be less prone to rock damage?
