Staun Tyre Deflators

For those who do a bit a beach/sand work or regularly deflate there tyres for off roading these would be a good investment.

Brought a set the other week ($76) and used them for the first time on Thursday night to travel the freshwater track to Cooloola Beach. They deflated the six tyres in no time at all which meant I was not crouched down using a small stick to deflate one tyre at a time while the offsider was cracking his first beer.

They are preset (adjustable) for 18psi which was a little low for the weight of the 6x6 LR I was driving as we had a flat tyre on the sat morning, the tube started leaking air near the valve. I will leave them at 18 for the Defender, good excuse for a camping trip up the beach in the defender, well, as soon as the old man gives it back mid-late June..

I got a set if anyone wants to buy em off me there the standard set and I have used em once...

I wanna get the rockcrawler edition stauns (0-10psi) so anyone wants a set used once, currently set to about 12psi... I say make me an offer... say $50 :?:

Yep, they work pretty well once you have set them up properly and save a fair bit of buggerising around. The cool thing about the set I got was that when I subscribed to 4wd Monthly I got them for nothing as part of their promotion.

Yep .. know the rag. About the only way I would have renewed my subscription .... if they'd also come boxed with a carton of XXXX

Staun provide good service too - changed over my 3yo aluminium ones for newer brass ones at no charge. I have two set to 18psi (sand) and two set to 27psi (dirt roads)...

I think that it is an excellent product.

But what goes down must come up again.

Why don't the makers of compressors have an option to set the inflation pressure or maybe Staun could make a reverse model? :wink:

Airing-up can take as much if not more time than airing-down.

8) mr shell has a very good compressor, so airingup [websters 2005/1/2 edition] is easy
