Wiring loom - 93 Rangie (LSE)

I've had a look but can't find an answer.

Does anyone know if there's a wiring loom (wiring harness) diagram for a 93 Rangie? I bought the Rave CD and it's great for wiring connectivity - but it doesn't say what wires run next to each other.

After a fan melt-down strange things now happen:-
    - Some lights, mirrors, internal seat motor don't work
    - and when I turn on the head lights the central locking engages (and continually re-engages if i try to manually unlock it).

It seems likely the fan blowing (pardon the pun) has caused some insulation melting somewhere. So, to save ripping out the entire cab, it would be great to get a schematic of where, say, the lighting and locking circuits run together in the loom.

    Thanks, Ken

Not sure if you'll find such a diagram unfortunately. If the loom has had a melt down, there's 2 things you can do. If it was an external heat source you may be able to graft a new section of loom in, but if it was an internal short that caused the meltdown, they you may be on a hiding to nothing. A replacement loom would be your best bet, and depending on what part has cooked, that could be a big job.

Either way, I would start at a point you can get to and remove the top layer of tape exposing the individual wires to see what sort of a mess you have. Sometimes you can peel the wires apart, other times the copper will just peel out of the sheath.

Cooked wiring looms are never much fun.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Seconding Bacicat, pulling a loom apart is the only way to see the damage. The main thing to remember is that nearly all wire colours are specific to each circuit so it shouldn't be hard to work out what a wire does when you've found it. I'd peel apart the loom a foot at a time, tease out the burnt wire and discard it, then tape up any slight damage and run a new external wire for the fried ones.

Thanks, though as much but was hoping that a wiring loom map might help me start at the right place.

All the carpets are side panels are out anyway, to try to get coolant out of the carpets and felt - heater core blew the day I bought it, and the previous owner used a VERY high concentration of green coolant. So I'll start low and work in towards the dash & fuse box.

    Al good fun.
