    Very 8) Larns.

So the 110's did have an option of a underseat tank then?

What capacity does that give you?

Do they hang down past the chassis rails or sills?

    Thanks,

    Dave.

To answer a few Q'- Yes they do hang down below the sills
    - Pretty sure they also hang below the chassis by
    coulpa inches as we'll
-think they were a uk thing as I've only seen the
rare 110 kickin round with one.
    - they hold 68Ltrs.
My 110 tank hold less than that due to having to cut a section out to fit around the rear link mounting piont, but I'm hopin to make that up with the extended filler tube volumn. I'm fabricating a filler like the landcruisers with the duel tank filler at the one cap.
The original D90 under seat tank has a capacity of 53Ltrs from memory, due to the factory cut out to fit in.

Part no. for the 110 tank and ass.

I didn't include any Pt NO. for fastners as I bought my own.
An you'll also need alot of 8mm ID fuel hose.

    Cheers Larns
Hope you dont mind me posting the info.

I was looking at the Les Richmond Auto (Thomastown, Vic) site tonight and noticed he has both sill tanks and replacement main tanks for Defenders.

If anyone is interested I am selling a driver side 110 fuel tank. It is in good condition and located in Brisbane. Note the sill tanks for the 2 door 110 and 4 door 110 are different. I see from the photo that larns has a 2 door 110. You can fit a slightly bigger tank to the two door as there is no foot well (floor) for rear passengers.

At work (RAAF) we have the 110's with a similar set-up. They are a 2 door though. You can get fuel tanks that sit under both front seats, both the drivers and the passengers. One is 50 litres, the other 60 litres. They are readily available from Land Rover Australia, Brithish Motor Imports etc.

On top of that you have the option for a main tank behinf the rear axle. If custom set-up yourself, you could conceivably have available nearly 200 litres of diesel under your truck. Coupled with the Tdi, that gives a very impressive range.

The batteries live behind the seats. You can mount them in battery boxes, or for the 2 door, you can do similar to the military and cut into the side and make a hinged door with a sliding bracket inside.

    Cheers
    Chris
