I concur that getting the compression increased and selecting a decent exhaust sytem and ignition uograde will make a huge difference to the 3.9. Have done a few low comp (8.13:1) to high comp (9.35:1) upgrades, new std cam, port matched inlets and exhausts , and the 2.75" exhaust system seems the best size.

Pretty happy with the value for $ outlay. These engines are never going to use small amounts of fuel you can only hope to make them more efficient ie more torque lower down to enable higher gears to be used. Thats the only way you'll see any fuel saving.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Depends on state of tune, operating rpm range intended amongst other bits and pieces.

Not sure a 3.9 could take a twinscrew without some serious mods....
I have an autorotor mx422 sitting here for a few years, was going to put it on my m117 5.6 - hasn't happened yet. I now have a 3.9 with 337,000 on it. could rebuild to take a blower, but the real question is, is it worth it?
