Arb bar
Hi Glen
I too just fitted the same bar (came complete with winch , all off a damaged vehicle)to my 98 disco tdi. More fart arseing around than you as did with winch connected. Did your bar align well with body work - mine is about 2 to 3mm too far to the passenger side-as measured by panel clearances - and I cant see how any adjustment can be done???
.....only noticable to me of course.....bit obsessive - must visit my shrink.
cheers

Hi Lindsay,
Mine is a couple of mm's out but you would be hard picked to notice
I have less clearance on the drivers side by about 3mm, the bar does come with packing plates for the rails as the instructions state there may be differences in chassis measurements  this would be due to LRs fantastic quality control plus there panel alignment is probably a bit out 8O
It would be a bit heavy lifting the winch cradle in place with the winch fitted 8O 8O I still have that to do when I decide which winch, one thing I dont understand is the large cutouts beside the control box, at first I thought they were for veiwing the wire lay on the winch drum but it wouldn't be visible from what I can see

bar alignment
Yep..sounds like your bar position is similar to mine - can probably be corrected with shims as you say but as you dont really know the position until it all bolted and tightened its far too much work to take off and shim - oh well Landy owners are used to imperfection. Yes it was heavy and awkward fitting with winch connected - 2 jacks and 3 people. BUt I thought it would save time in the long run. I dont know what those cut outs in the bar are for either?
cheers
Lindsay
