    Mounting Kangeroo Jack to Defenders

Has anyone got any good ideas about mounting heavy duty Kanger Jacks to the exterior of Defenders, and/or pics/info on how to do it?

    Cheers

    Hi Jimmy,

On my first Defender I mounted it across the rear crossmember, two pieces of 12mm threaded rod and two of the existing holes lined up to holes in the jack and just used lock nuts to keep in place, it was out of the way and kept the weight down low instead of up on the roof rack, the only thing is a cover over the mech to keep the dust out

    Hi all

I take the mechanism of the shaft, slide the shaft under the back seat with the handle and leave the mechanism in a bag in the back. (pack up very small and only take a few seconds to re-assemble)

    Cheers

    Smart fella....

I slide mine the length of the body and it sits proud with the back door and the front of the back seet. it is then strapped down. mine is a 60" and not the 48" seen around

i might have to do what 130tdi does.....

Mine is mounted up and down on a bracket bolted to the rear bumper and secured with another mounting on the top attached to the gutter. Works well but is a bit over engineered - given the simple ideas listed here.

I just purchased the 60" model and a set of Kaymar carriers and stuck it on the roof rack, you also get a shovel holder as well for $90, keeps it out of the dust and is easily accessible, as to the weight up top, I can live with it.
