    Fuel Pump issues..

    Hi Everyone,
This morning i took my 91 classic 3.9 to work as i do everyday and parked.
When i got back in 30mins later she wouldnt start..Initially she popped then had
the symptoms of no fuel..I put in a jerry can, just in case , then tried again..
I then noticed there was no fuel pump noise on turn of ignition...I checked the fuses under the seat and changed 2 relays 30amp 5 pins for new ones...
Still nothing....Motor turns over just starved of fuel...Any input would be greatly appreciated as she is on a tilt tray now , heading to shed.....

    Thanks in advance
    Trev..

The fuel pump should be accessible from a small hatch in the load area floor. If not you may have to drop the tank. The pump itself is nothing special, any Ford or Holden pump of a similar type should fit. The most important thing to do is to salvage the pressure pipe that connects the pump to the outlet of the assembly. Ordinary fuel hose can't be used inside a fuel tank as it swells up and bursts.

But before you do, make sure that the fuel pump is powering up during cranking. A test light or multi meter rigged to the output (white/purple) of the pump relay should show power on during cranking. The relay should click as you crank the engine too. Check also that you have spark during cranking, as the ECU gets its rotation signal from the ignition coil. There is no crank sensor on these engines.

It means its working as intended, you'll probably need to change your fuel pump
