    Lt95 thrust race slide tube

    Hi
I have two lt95 boxes and they have different length slide tubes for throw out bearing .
Can anyone give info on why they would be different and will it be possible to run any standard lt95 clutches on them . One is a military box (longer slide tube) could this tube be longer for isuzu diesel ? Any info will be appreciated .
    Thanks to all .

It looks to me that the first one has been shortened (cut) for some reason. The LT95 input shaft setup is the same in V8 or Isuzu configuration, only the 101 box is different there with a short input shaft and bellhousing and doesn't have the extension sleeve on the input shaft cover. I think you have a butchered one there mate - maybe it was in some conversion configuration. If you are thinking of using it in a standard setup I would pull the shortened extension sleeve off and replace it with a normal one - Loctite it on.

You could measure the height of the pressure plate, and compare it to the length of exposed shaft, minus the length of the spigot part. That would give you a good indication. IMO, the closer to the fingers on the pressure plate the better as the release bearing will remain more stable. I say this because once I got a clutch kit for a Fiat with a pressure plate that was around 8mm 'shorter' than the usual one, and I fitted it without comparing, and the release bearing carrier wound up jumping out of the fork. I hate doing things twice when once will do.
