if you find someone willing to do the chop let me know
I also want a disco ute 8) but haven't got the time to do myself
I currently have a 05 nissan navara piece of crap (don't buy one) to fill the ute void
that I would gladly get rid of for a disco ute
I'd pref dual cab & tray back 8)
I'll make one someday, I think i'll need to extend the disco chassis to 130" to make it all work

If yours is foot operated it is non-standard. I have never regarded the handbrake in my County a problem - in fact I think it is one of the best located of any vehicle I have driven, and I have always wondered why people complain about them.
However, I think the answer (apart from the fact that people come in different shapes) is that when they went to push button doors the doors became much thicker, and the seats were moved inwards to allow for this (and a smaller steering wheel fitted), but the handbrake styed in the same place. I have heard that you can move it over a few centimetres without much effort.
