Ah, thats something i didnt even think of.
I was thinking about fitting an R380+LT230 combo to my 83 Rangie, if i didn't decide rebuild the LT95.
I just thought id need to drill another hole for the different transfer lever. I also figured seeing as defenders had the long gear stick like the early Rangies it shouldnt have much trouble mating to the original Shifter hole.
So would I have to get another floor for mine? Or maybe modify the existing one?
Im just dreaming at this stage. I probably will just get the LT95 rebuilt. It should handle the 4.6 setup im planning to get.

The LT95?
Thanks guys for all the info, keep it coming. If not fo my sake then for others reading this.
Im leaning toward the easy option of a LR box, ie min mods to my vehicle. If I bought a used defender or RR manual box, are there any after market mods that I can do that will improve its weak points.
As aquarangie noted, I need good down hill (steep) control here in NZ south island. The best driving is in the high country.
Its about the journey-~not the destination
