    When Brad broke a timing belt on his TDI, M.R sent him a belt ,push rods,rockers, seals,etc to Broome from Brisbane in 2 days, The mechanic in Broome couldn't believe it, he reckons it takes him 3 weeks to get parts for most stuff. He did a steering box on the Gibb river road and there was one waiting for him in Darwin. One phone call to MR and the parts were there and they said fix us up when you get back. They always send the right parts to.

    Bad report. I would have demanded they fly up the parts and lube. Clearly an incompentent dealership.

    BTW the 20,000km servicing interval is normal for LR, that's what it is for the TD5s too. However, mine is done every 10,000 without fail. Good to see a D3 up at 20k already.

    Yep Leo i know exactly how you feel, i find it more frustrating than anything ...................... when i took my old girl along the Gunbarrel to Wiluna i had no major dramas thank god and the broken belt and split hose i was able to fix as i had the spares with me .................. sitting here reading these posts i would hate to think what would have happened if i had a real major issue ................. i would still be sitting at Giles drinking disgusting Sth Australian beer ( West End ) whilst waiting for a part.

    Just to be a lone voice in favour of the defendant. In 1998 when my Defender was owned by a mate and we were doing "Up the guts" we had a service and minor electrial problem sorted by Darwin LR. No booking, they dropped everything and got us back on the road same day. Now I have heard from various sources over the years that our happy experience is practically unique but I tell it here for the record.

    Also to the above poster, if there is a particular South Australian beer you can't stand (West End, I'm guessing) then use the brand name. The reason I say this is that Coopers is a South Australian beer I'd back it against any mid-size or bigger brewery in your state or mine. Coopers is The Land Rover of beers - built the old way and very tasty.
