    After opening up the gaskets I'm not confident they will seal.

    So I'm thinking of using high temp Red RTV silicone for a gasket. Anybody else done this?

    Haven't tried the red, but the gold stuff is pretty good.

    All back together and no leaks. Not confident of the gaskets lasting though so I've ordered big bore 37x28mm gaskets from the UK.

    Can't drive yet because I had to take of the steering rod and the tie rods are stuffed so I can't get it back on

    re exhaust gaskets, depends on what your using but there is a right way around and a wrong side. see below link and scroll down to 'exhaust gaskets alignment'.
