Remove the overflow between the radiator and the header tank - at the radiator. Blow through to make sure it is clear.
Fill header until coolant flows of radiator overflow. Reconnect pipe from overflow to header tank.
If you don't blow that line out you will end up with an air lock. Also, by blowing the coolant out, you'll find out whether the hole at the header tank is blocked - mine was. I drilled the blockage out - if that hadn't worked it would have been a new header tank.
Never let the 4.6 overheat. It will stuff the motor. Ask me how I know.
Also note that the over-temp light on the dash is NOT connected to the Message Centre alarms so you won't know it has come on. I intend to modify my dash to give an audible alarm when that light comes on.
