    Discovery rim query

    Hi folks,
Does anyone know if there is any difference in the rims between series 1 and 2 Discoveries other than the stud pattern?
I'm looking at buying an HF radio mounting bracket from a series 1 Disco that attaches to spare wheel carrier / rim and then protrudes through the rim.
Should it be a simple matter of re drilling some holes on the bracket to fit the series 2 or is the series 2 a "deeper" rim meaning the bracket extension won't be long enough.

(hope you can understand what I am trying to explain - if you look over my shoulder you can see the diagram I have sketched!)

Not sure on that one mate, it was always my belief that the rims were the same appart from the stud pattern. But im not 100%. Have a look through the gallery to see if there are any photos of discos with a steel rim from each series. My disco has a steel spare on the back door, and there is a shot from the back in my gallery on page 4, now you need a series II. Matt

Completely differant, stud pattern is 120mm PCD and off set is differant too, the DII has the same stud pattern as the P38a Range Rover 95 on.

The two Discos are not the same in any way, nothing inter changes
    Cheers Baz.

The offset of the D2 and P38A rims is 57mm vs 33mm for the D1 (Redback has already addressed the PCD) and the wheel stud diameter is smaller on the D2 and P38A than on the D1.

Noting that the D1 and D2 both have 7" rims, the difference in offset would mean that a D1 wheel is deeper on the outside than a D2 by about 24mm.
