if your smart charger is not responding stick a small unregulated solar panel on it of the same nominal voltage, give it a day, if the charger still wont recognise it at the end of the day give it another day.

no more than about 1/100th of the AH rate of the battery...

(a 50ah battery gets a .5A worth of solar)

if you have more solar than that then you need to do a little mathamagic, and fit a current limiter in the form of a 24v bulb that will drop the max current rate to not more than the nominated current

Dont try to rejuvinate an AGM thats below the voltage for a normal charger to recognise it with more than about 1/50th of its AH rate to the point where it will.

I've found that with and AGM thats not going to get loved and left disconnected a very small (125ma of most) unregulated solar panel fitted with a quality blocking diode will give you a very healthy life out of the battery. (obviously keep to the same nominal voltage)
