130's rule
If it's just outf warranty I'd be asking them to arrange some LR support... they should help.
If not, try talking to MR Automotive.... bound to be cheaper

8) you can check the clutch easily,
at thr frontof the aircon compressor is a wire coming out from it,
there should be a quich disconnect plug on it a couple of inches out.
disconnect it and then put a wire from the positive side of your battery to it - when you connect it to the battery you should hear the clutch snap in as the clutch is held in by an electric solenoid.
do this [of course with the engine not running]
if ot needs re gassing you should see bubbles in the sight glass [usually located on the receiver/drier
I thought suitable replacement compressors from an aircon place would cost about $700 or much less secondhand.
To upgrade to whole system would be big $$$$

the sanden compressor new from ashdowns at coopers plains brissy
cost me $280.
in the early S1 disco there is an electrical thermostat controll, that no one
could get for mine, and the one that did cost $880????
so i got a manual thermostat out of a vl commadore wired that up to the
front fans and the comp clutch, re gassed the whole thing and set the
switch to cut out at 7deg.
but yes you are right on the **** ant performance of the system.
its not much better than the windows down.

thanks for the helpfull replys , but its my luky day , the wife said its working again . now i dont know weather to leave it or try to look into it . the land rover guys said it was rusty from salt water . around the elctros and the clutch.
Well if you do a search in the archives for posts from pullsey, he's up in Townsville area and he's had an aftermarket mini-van job put in.
Looks pretty darn good and goes well too he reckons :-)
Cost of a 2nd-hand compressor from a wrecking mob in SA (http://www.triumphroverspares.com.au) is $450..
