Nothing will fit in a Defender door without hitting the window/mechanism.
Possibly speaker boxes behind the seats on wheel boxes.
Hi all,
I'm considering installing two speakers for the second row passengers in the Defender Td5 as the kids love a bit of music and for them to hear it in the back well as you know at a 100km\h you need to crack it up all the way.
I have a few questions on:
- Best location in the second row door?
- What size speaker would fit into above spot (nothing fancy)?
- How to get the cabling through?
- Is there a better spot than the door?
Thanks all

I used to have speakers mounted to the cargo barrier of my old Defender. Is that a possible option for you?

Good idea but i do take the barrier out now and again. Thinking of getting 4 2" speakers and fit them in the paneling above the door...
I don't think there is enough room behind the panel/headlining to fit a speaker which is why I didn't do that. I could be wrong though - it was a while ago.

Maybe the cargo barrier is not a bad idea after all, the kids would get better sound quality that way.
Sound quality in a Defender - is that the pinnacle of oxymorons?![]()
A defender @ 110km\h is well, the kids can talk and scream and the wife can say what she want.... it all silent, just the hum of the road and the engine.
