The hoses from the res are sealed with hose clamps.
You can try and tighten both of them up.
The rubber hoses go hard with age and the heat of the fluid.
You could try and trim them and reinstall with new hose clamps.
Hi all,
I've recently bought a Land Rover Defender '97 110 300tdi. There seems to be a couple of fluid / oil leaks; the one i'm looking at the moment is in the power steering fluid. As the fluid around the area is pink-ish I assume it's from there. I can't really locate where it could be from, so I was wondering if someone knows a common problem / area / or tip to help me further?
Kind regards,
Kyra

------------
98% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road.
The other 2% made it home.
Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.
Hi Kyra , If you still have the original hoses then they are probably getting past their use by date. The vehicle is now 19 years old, and the rubber perishes and goes brittle.
Cheers, Mario
