Ha ha.
In the 120" it happened to me all the time; pants, shirts, the lot.
I perfect the arse duck as you get in.
In the 130 it hasn't happened, yet.

So it's not just me?
I tend to catch a belt loop from time to time. Kinda takes you by surprise the first few times. You hop up and it's like she throws you out again.
The other one is the grease stains on your clothes. It idid not take me long to figure out that when the seat belt hags in front of the striker and you slam the belt in the door then when you put the belt on it leaves a nice greasy smear.
But what had me stuffed was the mysterious grease spots that would appear in the centre of my white shirts (just the white ones) but I finally figured it out. I play in a bagpipe band and wear white shirts then. I go to get my drum out the back and the door closes on me with the latch tapping me on the back.
Bless them you just don't get that kind of interaction with an X5.

Yep. I have managed it getting in and outops:
I havn't had the plaky issue yet but the drivers striker came loose one day while off road. Pulled up for a cuppa and when we all left I was the red faced one on the CB saying hang on while I rope my door shut. Luckly father in law had the right hex key thingy so fixed in under a minute.
The grease and dust just prooves you drive a Defender
So, on second thoughts, I guess there have been improvements between Countys and Defenders.

ummmm why dont i get caught on the door strike???
Guess you've mastered the thrust without noticing.
Either that, or you've got one of the rare Defenders with the placcy trousers shield between the striker and the door pillar.

ok....we never used to grease the catches for the stain reasons......
we would use dry lube sticks or a bit of white petrolleum jelly (vaseline)...
the reason for the palstic on the catch is so that it wouldnt require grease...
keep them clean and you stay clean......
as for catching your pants on them.......the "B" pillar is too far forward as
far as im concerned......
