i squeezed one the same size as the factory one in there.....
mind you i had to use a bloody big shoe horn....
if you make sure the battery you get is smaller than the factory one
it should fit without too much stress....
if you get two smaller ones you can even fit them cross ways....
you should be able to get three optimas in there...possibly four....
the space is big....but so is the original battery....

I had the original battery and a std deep cycle
I then got a battery tray from Rovacraft which bolts in and takes 2 Orbitals.
Holds them very secure and also can mount optimas if they be your choice.
With the Orbitals its easy, as the bolt through the holes in the top of the battery. Easy to remove and refit without tools
Cheers
Mike
I'll take some pics later...

i used the original holes for the original battery......
i am still to make up a bracket for the auxillary battery.....for this i will have
to make some new holes......
i didnt buy any smaller batteries because i only paid $70 for the deep cycle.....
so i had a choice of size or price......my pocket decided on price....
when they die i will be getting some better and smaller size batteries.....
which should fit in a lot easier......and by which time the ol pocket will be
a tiny bit heavier......
