How's this, the D3 V8 uses less petrol than the V6 :!:

probably because the poor little motor has to push nearly 3 tonne.

How do you think a tdi feels then ?

simply really as has been said the V6 has to work harder than the V8
(example not real figures) at 100ks the V6 is doing 3500 revs but the V8 is doing 2500 revs. Hence less feul is being used.
Same as with the 3.5 V8 and the 4.6 V8
