CV joint help wanted???

that would be right, i just finished cutting out some from a rum
can....

i think i might have lost some??? the DS is to tight and the PS is to loose.
and ive only got 2 OEM shims???

just doing what the book said.

Sorry to bring up a really old thread but I'm looking for some help here.
I started my swival seal replacement this weekend along with a CV swap with some new (used) CV's I bought. Upon installation, I realized my stub axle won't fit over the "collar" of my new CV's. Basically it won't sit flush against the CV, so the axle doesn't have any play once the stub axle is bolted up, hubs, hub flange, etc.. and I don't have enough room to get the circlip on the end of the axle. The reason I brought up this old thread is because the new/used CV's I bought have the part# A09803022 which was mentioned in post#1 of this thread:

the top one is a hardie spicer A09803022

So my question is, which model truck and year are these CV's intended?
I've scoured the internet and this is the only result I've found referencing this hardy spicer part #.
My truck is a '95 RRC LWB, but it has an April '04 build date as stated on the door frame.
I had to put the CV I pulled out, back in, and I forgot to snag the part # off of it, but from what I've found it seems I need part# A09803-052?Thanks in advance for your help.

A little bit of assistance - My spare cv's are A9803-052, and they're from a 96 Disco with ABS.

and

you could always obtain two thrust washers and machine them down - those other cv's obviously work, but the likely source is defender (Which has a slightly different thrust washer arrangement..
