Diff Housing repaire
OK i had another rear diff centre give up on me and now have 2 Small cracks in the housing facing to the rear right hand side one is approx 12 mm long and after working it over withe the hammer it is almost closed and the other is about 25mm Long and after the hammer treatment it is only 0.5 to 1 mm wide in a couple of spots. so do i
Q1 Welding the housing ?
Q2 Hard solder the housing?

weld it make shaw you clean it up try to remove as much oil from the housing as possible and weld ive been there before bloody rover centres
i have a spare housing to suit a 86 model if you interested

I'd just weld or braze it to seal it up. If its a structural part of the axle housing, then it'll need to be welded.

i have always kept a petrol repair putty in my truck. I have found this bloody usefull for repairing the tank plus rad , but most importantly the diff houseing. Did it to a racer i had years ago. Put the putty on the diff caseing as we had hit a rock and split it and finished the race. Then forgot about it untill 3 years later when i was looking at the axel and saw that it was still there and working well.
Well worth bit of kit to keep in the tool box of the truck
