    I hope he is correct,
I will update next week or so when it is due back.
Is he Russian by any chance? there was a guy who fixed odos to what ever to what ever mileage you wanted. We had a falcon EF we bought years ago with 25 ,000 on the clock from a big dealer. We paid top dollar for the low kms at the time , had it for 8 years and never got over 35k on the clock, if used to revert back to 25,000 regulary. When I questioned the authenticity of the ODO, he said to me think of the resale value.
    Hope yours is trouble free

    Very annoyed.

So I received my cluster back on Friday 21/7.
    Over 5 weeks.
    Week 2
After ringing to see if the job was done 3 days after the promised repair,
"oh I haven't looked at it yet. what was the problem again?"
Me -"Its all explained on the note I sent with it.It wont work when blah blah"
    "Oh I can fix that"
Me -" You mentioned that. When will you look at it?"
"It will be done on Tuesday call me then"
    Week 3
Tuesday - Cant get in contact
Wednesday - "ill get to it today"
Thursday - "all fixed" will send back today....
    Me -tested and confirmed?
    "Yes just a dry joint"
    Friday- "whats your return address?"
    Week 4
Tuesday- its gets sent... Australia Post
Week 5 Friday it arrives and it doesn't work!

    The way forward...
1/ Get it back and fixed properly in a better time frame. no charge
2/ Find someone else and get it fixed with potential same scenario.
3/ Find someone who can reset my higher kms cluster.
    4/ Buy a new cluster for $1600

2/ and 3/ are likely just as problematic as 1/
    option 4/ isn't appealing.

Ron reckons he has a penchant for faulty goods but I reckon I could give him a good run.

Anyway the temp has just climbed above 10 degrees and I have instruments again, so off to the dump and get rid of some stuff.

gotta smile and remember its a first world problem.

I didnt find it in my search last time yet somehow seem to have caught a break, I have found a new cluster for a fair price and have placed the order. Shall see what freight comes to and hopefully will be sorted right.

    Yes..and now for an update.

Ordered a new cluster from a UK internet vendor @ 168gbp. The part was listed as OEM non genuine. yet I wasn't concerned as it was highly likely to be from the same manufacturer.
12 days later I am advised the item was not in stock and order cancelled.
Back to the website and I immediately order the genuine cluster @ 265gbp.
3 days later I check back in to see if freight cost has been calculated and note the site has updated its prices for the same genuine cluster to 468gbp.
Glad I ordered at the cheaper price.
Another 8 days pass and an email arrives stating the item not in stock and order cancelled.
I smelt a rat and ordered the same part at the revised 468gbp and recieved an email in less than 2 hrs with the shipping quote.

This particular company does not take phone calls and insists it is better equipped to handle any sales or inquiries online.
So an exchange took place as to the professionalism of a company that advertises items that are not in stock, cancels orders and then advertises items in stock that they will not sell for the advertised price.
Fortunately I copied the online invoices and correspondence and kindly offered this to the "Google Business Review" option associated with the company and few notes as to what happened.

In the meantime the original cluster issue still needed to be addressed.
The repairer had offered me to send it back for another attempt "no charge" but I was initially reluctant due to the shipping costs adding up to the "apparent cost" of the new cluster.
Option 2 was send him the working high km cluster which he would reset to zero and return to me at his expense.
The BCU would then adjust the odometer as enough cycles had occurred to match the BCU kms.
So off it went and the job is now complete with a working cluster and kms that reflect the vehicles true distance since rebuild.
Interested to see how many kms travelled before the BCU self syncs.

oh and 5 days after leaving my story with the Google Review, I am offered a new genuine cluster at the original advertised price...
