Various pics of cargo areas for inspiration.

I thought I would start up a topic on people's setup in the boot of there landy, ie. drawers, fridge etc.... This way people get an idea on what works and what doesn't.

To start the ball rolling, here is my current setup, which I want to change, hence this idea of seeing how everyone else has there Landy setup for touring/camping etc.

Please post a description and pics....

This is my setup, minus the tools and I normally have a 40lt Engel in there, but I'm thinking of changing this setup now to one drawer to keep recovery and tools in and maybe the fridge on a slide, haven't quite decided yet, too hard to work out at the moment.

    Hi Matt,

Maybe you can give us a list of gear you normally carry and your requirements. I believe your kit very much determines what your storage system looks like. I personally hate bags, lose items or just small things lying around so my storage system is based around large containers and a drawer for recovery gear.

I'll take some pics of my RAG drawers and fridge setup in the back of the disco and post them over the weekend. I couldn't mount the engle long ways cause of the cargo barrier

But there is still some space left beleive it or not with the fridge mounted across ways.

Trouble is my setup vary's a bit, depends where I'm going and who I'm going with so I need something that I change around to meet those needs, like I have the 40lt engel going longways, but can't fit a cargo barrier, so looks like I'll have to make a custom one

This is my old disco cargo system, engel sat on top running sideways. I too want to run my engel longways, so I want to build a new single drawer system to the left side and put the fridge on a slide at floor level on the right. I did build a custom stainless/lexan cargo barrier for the old one because I made the drawers so deep a normal milford half barrier would not fit. next cargo barrier will start at just below the headrest so the engel will fit.

I've got lots of pix that I took at the LR 50th Anniversayr at Cooma in 1998.

Pix cover Series LR, RR classics, Disco 1 and Defender.

I suppose I should scan them and post them somewhere.

Love the lexan Stephen, you could leave the air con running and the back door open

    Nice work.

Why not? I had my Engel 40L sitting behind the barrier in my Disco 1.
Takes just a little bit of time and 2 small modifications.

As I no longer have that vehicle if you post a photo of the empty rear of a disco 1 with a barrier I'll highlight the mods required.

    Cheers
    Mike
